Charter change Proposal On June 8th the Charter Change Coalition submitted their recommendations to the Mayor and Council for Consideration. "The charter changes presented represent thousands of hours of work over the last year and numerous in depth meetings with mayor and council over the last month. The proposed changes are true to the guidelines set out by the coalition on May 20th and they reflect the concerns of the council as well." Ron Shoopman

Smart United Business
Strategies was founded to enlighten, enhance and
engage business owners and employees in a process to
change our local political environment that will
reflect a more balanced representation of our
community. We support businesses and issues that
contribute to the success of Tucson and Southern
Arizona by encouraging responsible growth and
economic opportunities. Our efforts and actions will
encourage and support government policies that lead
to better life for all our citizens!
"If local elected
officials and business leaders want to rebuild
Tucson's
downtown and hang onto our tourism and convention
business, gem and
mineral shows, spring training baseball,
professional golf tournaments
and other attractions for residents and visitors
alike, they can.
But if government and business leaders don't
lead,
can't unite the
community
and don't want to be
bothered with local problems,
we are all the
losers.
We have to decide collectively that when times get
tough, the tough do indeed get going."

Tucson Business, December 15th, 2008
